Solar installations
At the Expo in Japan a few years ago, I saw many solar panels installed vertically on the top of buildings. I did not quite understand why they were like that, but now I think that combining a white roof with vertical installation of bifacial panels is the way to go. You will substantially increase the amount of light hitting the panels (think being blinded on a sunny day standing in snow; the elastomeric on our garage roof reflects a lot of light through a tiny window into our house), and vertical installation will reduce the need to dust them off.
