In 1977, at the Big Ear Radio Observatory in Ohio, a very strong signal was detected, perhaps from outer space. For the last 30 years, researchers have been trying to figure out if it was terrestrial interference or an equipment problem, but the principal researcher concludes that that is unlikely.
